Kevin: I more guacamole ingredients.

Me: Um, sorry, what?

Kevin: I said, I got more guacamole ingredients.

Me: You did?

Kevin: Sorry, I forgot the verb.

This pretty much sums up our January.

Angie has a great sense of humor. When her big sister and big brother try to kiss her, she turns her head away, laughing in delight. The other day, while I was changing her diaper, Kevin came in and lay down in her bed, grinning at her. The sight of Daddy lying in her bed was so funny to her that she laughed until he got up.

These days, when she isn’t sleeping or being held, Angie is busy crawling or cruising around while holding on to the furniture, exploring everything she can get her hands on. This video of Angie is a perfect example of what she’s like on a typical evening at home. Alex and Ana liked it so much, they insisted that I share it with the world, so you can thank them for the fresh content.

New Year's Resolutions Update

Eat better. I’m not doing as well on this as I’d like. Too much fast food, not enough home cooked stuff.

Sleep more. I’m doing pretty good on this, kind of early to bed, early to rise, Ben Franklin style.

Work smarter. I’m getting better at knowing what I want to accomplish, but it’s still a struggle.

In other  news…

Alex turned 9. Wow. He’s growing up so fast. By up I mean both height and maturity.

We started giving Ana an allowance earlier than we originally planned. It’s all good.

Girl standing

I showed the above picture to someone who immediately commented, “She’s got Kevin’s hair!” I’m not sure how they were able to tell as she’s barely got any, but what little she’s got does match Kevin’s hair color. Her bald spot in the back filled in over winter break; this is definitely not an infant that will lie stranded on her back anymore. And yes, she pulled to standing all by herself. She can also cruise along slowly while holding on to furniture. She’s so amazing.
