Angie @ 44 weeks
Julie| March 1, 2009 10:34 pmAngie loves to stand. She wants to do everything standing up, including drinking her bottle. She also loves to wave, clap, and high-five. She likes to yell rhythmically and revels in the attention when her big brother and big sister egg her on. She loves board books, whether it’s flipping through the pages or chewing on them. She is still eating homemade baby food, but today she also ate some store-bought second stage food that contained chicken, her first taste of meat.
At her checkup earlier this week, we learned that Angie is currently at the 50th percentile for height and 30th percentile for weight. This slowdown in growth coincided with her increase in mobility. Her big sister Ana had gone through the same thing, whereas her big brother Alex had plowed on ahead rambunctiously through his toddler years still up there in the 90th percentile. Like both of her siblings at this age, Angie’s head circumference is off the charts. I love my big-headed babies.
The doctor had also ordered some blood tests. My poor baby cried as the phlebotomist took far too long to draw the blood. At least the tests all came back normal.
